Nordic Investment Bank (NIB) is looking for an Accounting Trainee to join the accounting unit in Helsinki. In this role, your main responsibilities will include daily, monthly, interim and annual financial reporting and reconciliation of bank account and sub ledgers. The job description also includes assisting in other accounting related tasks. According to your skills and interest, you get to participate in the constant development of the digitalisation of accounting and administrative processes. The work is conducted on an hourly basis, approximately 2 days/week but flexible depending on your study commitments. Depending on our needs and your interest, we may be able to offer successful applicants full-time work during summer 2020.

This part-time Trainee position is particularly suitable for example for a student who has completed 1 to 3 years studies in accounting. We expect you to have an aptitude for figures and genuine eagerness to learn and develop in the field of accounting. We also consider interest in IT and digitalisation as an advantage.

We require:

  • Relevant studies in accounting
  • Good working knowledge in Excel and the standard IT tools
  • Aptitude for figures and attention to detail
  • Open-mindedness, flexibility, good interpersonal and organisational skills 
  • Fluency in English

We see as a benefit:

  • Previous work experience in administrative or accounting roles
  • Knowledge in SQL, databases or Power BI
  • Working proficiency in one of the Nordic languages
