CGI is now looking for a Senior Java Developer with Guidewire experience to join an expert team working in a long-term client environment. In this role, Guidewire is a key technology: we are specifically looking for someone who understands the Guidewire ecosystem and enjoys developing and maintaining systems in a controlled, high-quality enterprise setting.

This is a stable and long-term role where you will deepen your expertise and contribute to the continuous improvement of large-scale systems that support critical business processes.

What will you be doing?

As part of an experienced development team, you will work on the development and maintenance of business-critical systems. Your work focuses on improving an existing codebase, implementing changes carefully, and supporting production operations as part of the team.

Your days may include:

• Java development in a long-term enterprise environment
• Working with Guidewire (and potentially Gosu depending on the project scope)
• Evaluating the impacts of changes before implementation
• Handling ticket-based development tasks and bug fixes
• Supporting production and improving system stability over time
• Collaborating closely with developers and stakeholders
• Documenting work and communicating clearly in an international environment

We expect you to have:

• Experience in Guidewire environments and/or with the Gosu programming language
• Several years of professional experience in Java software development
• Ability to work with an existing codebase and evaluate the impact of changes
• Experience with Jira or similar tools for managing bugs and user stories
• Understanding of version control and careful Git-based development practices
• Strong English communication skills, both written and spoken

It is considered a plus if you have:

• Experience with Azure DevOps or similar development toolchains
• Understanding of cloud services (Azure, AWS, and/or GCP)
• Experience working in enterprise environments and business-critical systems

Practical details:

This is a permanent, full-time position. You will be employed by aTalent People and work in CGI’s client project environment. The role is intended to be long-term and aims at a collaboration lasting several years.

Working is primarily remote within Finland, and hybrid work may be possible depending on the project and responsibilities.
