SupercellGame Research Intern

We’re excited to announce that Supercell, one of the leading mobile game development companies in the world, is now looking for a Game Research Intern to join their Product Research Team in Helsinki! 

This is a one-of-a-kind possibility to dive into a completely new role and to support Supercell’s Product Research Team working alongside different game teams at Supercell in obtaining actionable insights through mixed-method research by focusing on Supercell’s games, players, competitors and the trends and changes in the global gaming market. The Product Research Team aims at informing and empowering product decisions throughout the full lifecycle of game development – from concept, prototype, testing to live-operation – with human and market insights. During this 6-month internship, you will learn how to conduct player research and market analysis, and work closely with different game teams and crafts to create holistic insights connecting players, data, competitors and the market.

 More specifically your daily adventure as a Game Research Intern features juggling tasks like:

• Designing, conducting and analyzing surveys, interviews and playtests to support the conception and iteration of new features and new games
• Collecting, monitoring and analyzing market data on key competitors, key regions and the global gaming market to identify trends and potential opportunities
• Assisting the Product Research team in various other projects and ad hoc requests

In this position you’ll have the support of the Supercellians around you, but you need an independent and self-driven mindset. We will do our best to support you to learn and grow. We have many fun and challenging research questions here at Supercell, and hope you will find them intellectually exciting too. We don’t expect you to know everything yet but hope that you are eager to deepen your expertise and have a proactive approach to your work. You will also benefit from analytical mindset and previous work experience from gaming, market research, management consulting or other relevant fields.

What Supercell is looking for: 

• A relevant educational background or ongoing studies for example in psychology, sociology, cognitive science, human-computer interaction, behavioral science or related fields (ideally, you are in the final stages of your studies)
• Knowledge / understanding of conducting primary research and secondary research (qualitative, quantitative and / or desktop research)
• A passion for games and any sort of entertainment in general
• Experience with some data analysis tool, such as R, SPSS, Python
• A full working proficiency in English  

 What Supercell considers as an asset:

• Previous work experience from gaming, market research, management consulting or other relevant fields. 
• Other language skills, such as German and Japanese

Practicalities:

This is a full-time and fixed-term position for at least 6 months, in which you will be employed  directly to Supercell. The exact duration of the employment relationship is negotiable. The ideal starting date for the position is as soon as possible. The position is located at Supercell's headquarters in Helsinki and we hope you are able to work at the office at least a few days per week as part of a hybrid model. Salary in this position ranges between approximately 2500-3000€/month (gross) depending on the level of your experience, and will be negotiated individually.
