Want to help shape how cyber incident response is documented and delivered in a global 24/7 Security Operations Center? Wärtsilä is looking for a Technical Writer to support its Security Operations Center (SOC)!
What will you be doing?
In this role, you will help transform operational knowledge into clear, practical documentation that enables consistent and effective cyber incident response across Wärtsilä’s global business ecosystem.
You will work closely with Wärtsilä’s Tier 3 cyber security specialists and other subject matter experts to create and maintain SOC playbooks, service descriptions, process documentation and operational guidelines. While the technical content comes from experienced cyber security professionals, your responsibility is to structure, document, and communicate that knowledge in a way that is easy to understand and apply.
The role is part-time, averaging approximately 20 hours per week, and offers a unique opportunity to gain exposure to advanced cyber security operations while collaborating with experienced incident response professionals.
What makes you a great fit?
Ideally you already have some experience producing technical documentation and enjoy turning complex topics into structured, user-friendly content. You are comfortable collaborating with multiple stakeholders, gathering information from experts, and driving documentation tasks forward independently.
An understanding of cyber security incident response processes will help you succeed in the role. You do not need to be a senior incident responder, but familiarity with how security incidents are investigated, managed, and mitigated will allow you to contribute more effectively from day one.
