WiproProcess Engineer (Surface Treatment)

Want to develop surface treatment processes in an international environment and impact production quality and efficiency? Wipro is looking for a Process Engineer!

What will you be doing?

We are looking for a Process Engineer to join Wipro Infrastructure Engineering as a technical expert in surface treatment. You will develop and evaluate new and existing surface treatment methods at Wipro’s manufacturing sites and support production, R&D, and other teams in technical matters. Your work will focus especially on industrial painting and pretreatment processes, corrosion testing, and improving process quality and efficiency.

Your projects may include reducing paint and energy use, improving cycle times, and finding more environmentally friendly solutions. You will also support equipment investments by defining technical requirements and taking part in testing and commissioning. In addition, you will help investigate production issues, support the technical handling of customer complaints, and work with customers, suppliers, and Wipro teams at the manufacturing sites in Perniö, Sweden, and Romania.

You have a strong practical and technical understanding of industrial surface treatment processes and experience in developing them. You understand not only individual process steps but also the whole process and how different changes can affect quality, costs, efficiency, and production. You are interested in improving processes and finding better technical solutions.

This is an independent and international role, so we value an accurate, organized, and proactive way of working as well as good communication and negotiation skills. Working with different teams, suppliers, and customers comes naturally to you, and you can adapt to changing situations. A practical and cost-conscious approach will help you succeed in this role.

We expect you to have:

• A relevant technical degree, for example in chemical, materials, process, production, or mechanical engineering
• Several years of relevant experience in industrial surface treatment and process development
• Strong knowledge of industrial painting and pretreatment processes, as well as electrolytic surface treatment methods
• Experience with AutoCAD and/or other technical design tools such as SolidWorks, Creo, or similar software
• Good English skills and willingness to travel to Wipro’s sites within Europe

Additionally valued:

• Experience with different surface treatment methods, such as nitrocarburizing or chromium processes
• Experience with equipment investments, commissioning, or technical development projects
• Knowledge of surface treatment testing, process requirements, or quality development

Practicalities:

This is a full-time and permanent position, and you will be employed directly by Wipro Infrastructure Engineering Oy. We hope you are available to start as soon as possible, depending on your notice period.

You can work either at Wipro’s Perniö site or remotely from anywhere in Finland. The position includes approximately 50–60 travel days per year, mainly to Wipro’s sites in Finland, Sweden, and Romania. Salary in this position is 4500-5500 €/month (gross), depending on the level of your experience, and will be negotiated individually.
