Aboa Space Research Oy (ASRO) is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to strengthen the team and support upcoming space & life science projects!
Your role with us
As a Mechanical Design Engineer at ASRO, you will work on the mechanical design of different space technology and life science projects. Currently, ASRO is developing next-generation microscope solutions for life and biosciences in challenging environments, such as space. You can read more about ASRO’s solutions here.
In this role, you will join a small engineering team and work closely with ASRO’s current mechanical designer, sharing project responsibilities and supporting growing design needs. Your work focuses on hands-on mechanical design. You will design mechanical structures and assemblies, produce manufacturing drawings, coordinate manufacturing and procurement activities, and participate in assembly and testing processes. The projects focus on low-volume, high-reliability devices where quality and thorough documentation are essential.
You will collaborate daily with internal team members as well as external partners and suppliers. Depending on the project phase, your responsibilities may span from early concept design to fully assembled and tested devices.

This is a permanent, full-time role and you will be employed directly to ASRO. Start time in the role is negotiable, but we hope you can start working as soon as possible. The role will be located in Turku, and we hope you are able to work at the office regularly as part of a hybrid model.
