FA Solutions, a leading provider of Wealth and Asset Management software solutions, is now looking for a Cloud Database Administrator!

What will you be doing?

As a Cloud Database Administrator, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring the performance, reliability, and security of FA Solutions’ cloud-based SaaS infrastructure, with a strong focus on database operations.

Your key responsibilities include:

• Monitoring and managing the performance, availability, and security with a focus on MySQL as an Azure-based managed service.
• Developing and optimizing database monitoring, alerting, and logging.
• Analyzing and tuning queries, indexes, and configurations to ensure optimal performance and scalability.
• Collaborating with development teams to support designing and implementing a database architecture that supports application performance and reliability.
• Automating maintenance tasks using scripts and Azure automation tools.
• Participating in incident response and root cause analysis for database-related issues, ensuring timely resolution and documentation.
• Maintaining and improving database security and compliance practices.

You’ll work as part of our Cloud Operations team while also partnering across internal functions from Quality Assurance to Customer Support and Professional Services — and occasionally liaise with client teams through our customer-facing functions.

We require you to have:

• Experience working with relational databases (e.g. MySQL, MariaDB or Azure SQL) in cloud-based environments
• Skills in performance tuning, query optimization, and capacity planning
• Familiarity with log collection, monitoring, and alerting, including interpreting metrics to prevent issues
• Understanding of backup strategies, disaster recovery, and high availability setups
• A full working proficiency in English.

We consider as an asset:

• Proficiency with observability tools such as Datadog, Prometheus, or Grafana
• Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate or Azure Data Engineer Associate).
• Hands-on use of IaC tools like Terraform and Helm
• Familiarity with SaaS architecture and operational best-practices
• Experience with CI/CD-based automation for software and database deployments (e.g., using PowerShell, Bash)

Practicalities:

This is a full-time and permanent position, in which you will be employed directly to FA Solutions. The ideal starting date is as soon as possible. The company’s office is located in Helsinki, but it's possible to work entirely remotely in this role – preferably from Finland.
