GlucoModicumElectronics Engineer (MedTech)

Join the groundbreaking team shaping the future of health monitoring!

GlucoModicum is seeking a skilled Electronics Engineer to join its groundbreaking team as the company transitions into the production phase of a wearable medical device that has the potential to transform diabetes care. This is a rare opportunity to work hands-on at the stage where cutting-edge R&D turns into a manufacturable product – with plenty of impactful work ahead before market entry.

In this hands-on role, you will be an integral part of the team bringing a novel non-invasive continuous glucose monitor to market. You will participate in product design and analysis, support documentation and compliance efforts, and collaborate with testing partners and manufacturing experts. Your role will involve close collaboration with cross-functional teams, design and manufacturing partners, and test laboratories to ensure compliance with stringent medical device standards and exceptional product performance.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Designing and developing electronics for a novel non-invasive glucose monitor
  • Reviewing, testing, and optimizing PCB schematics and layouts
  • Hands-on debugging and troubleshooting of electronic circuits and prototypes
  • Ensuring designs meet technical performance requirements and regulatory standards
  • Collaborating with manufacturing partners and test laboratories
  • Contributing to essential technical documentation needed for compliance and certification (e.g., CE marking)

What makes you a great fit?

We’re seeking someone with strong electronics design know-how and enough practical experience to own design work independently, but who also thrives in a collaborative R&D setting. You should feel comfortable working at the interface of hardware and embedded software, with the ability to understand both electronic schematics and embedded code. You don’t need to be a senior engineer yet: we also welcome motivated recent Master’s graduates with a solid technical foundation and a genuine passion for electronics and MedTech. If you're energized by the chance to shape an early-stage product and push the boundaries of wearable health tech, you’ll fit right in.

What GlucoModicum offers you?

  • A rare opportunity to help launch a completely needle-free glucose monitoring device
  • A front-row seat to the transition from R&D to full production and later, the market launch
  • An ambitious, international, and science-driven work environment with 15+ nationalities and ~40 full-time colleagues
  • A meaningful role in a project with strong investor backing
  • Lunch, commuting, and sports/culture benefits
  • Brand new lab and office space in Hakaniemi, equipped with state-of-the-art tools and facilities

We hope you have:

  • A Master’s degree in electronics engineering or a related field
  • Experience in electronics design, ideally around 2–5 years, or a strong academic background if you are at the beginning of your career
  • Familiarity with PCB layout, design analysis, debugging, and test setups
  • Experience with microcontroller programming (C)
  • Excellent communication skills in English (working language)

 We consider as an asset:

  • Previous experience with medical devices or other regulated environments
  • Understanding of  relevant standards such as IEC 60601-1
  • Experience with ESD/EMI design and compliance
  • Hands-on work with analog signal processing or sensor systems
  • Prior exposure to risk analysis (e.g. dFMEA) or medical device documentation

Practicalities:

This is a full-time, permanent position where you will be employed directly by GlucoModicum. The start date is negotiable. Work takes place primarily onsite in Helsinki. Salary ranges between approximately 3500-5000 €/month and is negotiated individually based on your experience and skillset.
