(Junior) Software Developer, health-tech

Published on 16.11.2020

Remomedi is bridging the digital gap in medicine retail – we equip retail pharmacies to serve the consumers with digital age services. Digitalization of customer service in pharmacies is poorly developed. Remomedi offers a scale of cloud-based products for retail pharmacies and pharmacy chains in Finland and abroad. The solution enables customers to easily get medical counselling and purchase pharmacy products and services online from a distance and receive the goods without waiting in queues.

Remomedi is a flat, young and financially steady growth company. The company was established in 2017 and is majority-owned by pharmacy operators. Read more about Remomedi here: https://remomedi.com/en/.

Remomedi is growing fast and hence looking for a quality assurance oriented (junior) software developer in its product development team! In this versatile position, you will focus on QA and testing, and afterward, you’ll also be developing our cloud-based solutions, including both frontend and backend development. You will work with all of our products, including VideoPharmacy and a mobile application for remote customer service as well as the software for PickupPharmacy dispenser.

You will be involved in all parts of the software development lifecycle, from specifying the requirements and the use case to designing, implementing, and testing the product or its features. When starting at Remomedi, you will focus mostly on our quality assurance and testing. Your daily tasks consist of test designing, implementing functional and end-to-end tests, and creating reports from the test data. We have built some automated tests and you’ll have an interesting opportunity to develop the test automation procedures further. In addition to testing and quality assurance, we will include software development tasks into your role: You will maintain the existing products as well as develop new features, tailor products for e.g. large international pharmacy chains and build integrations to customer’s systems. You will also work on some cloud development for the PickupPharmacy dispenser.

You will communicate directly with B2B customers and occasionally travel to clients’ premises in Nordic countries if you’re open to traveling. In addition, you will regularly meet with our product development partner in Salo. As an organization we are non-hierarchical and small; you will work tightly with a development team that consists of in-house professionals and experts from our development partner.

Your tasks can be modified according to your interests and skills – you can build your expertise in test automation, fullstack, frontend or backend development. As your capability increases, we can offer you more demanding development or project management responsibilities. Currently, we are working for example with Python, Angular, React, TypeScript, HTML, SCSS, Ionic Framework, Node.js and Google Firebase. However, we don’t expect you to know everything – we can provide you with training and support for learning new technologies.

We hope you have:

  • Programming skills in JavaScript and Python
  • Some experience in testing and software development, preferably in a cloud-based environment (e.g. from internships, summer jobs or hobby projects). Both test automation and manual testing experience are highly valued.
  • Basic understanding of REST APIs and version control (e.g. Git)
  • Relevant study background
  • Good communication skills in English

 We consider as a plus:

  • Skills in some of the following technologies: Google Firebase, TypeScript, JSON and/or embedded software development technologies such as Linux and Raspberry Pi

We offer you:

  • A meaningful role in developing modern digital products and services that improve the customer service of small and large pharmacies
  • Exciting challenges in a young but financially steady growth company – you’ll get to develop next-generation products with modern technologies for large international retail pharmacy chains
  • Great opportunities for professional growth and career development – for instance, we have reserved a significant annual budget for your training
  • A versatile role that can be tailored according to your interests
  • A chance to travel to Nordic countries (and soon to Germany) to meet the clients
  • A relaxed and non-hierarchical working environment
  • Flexible working hours and the possibility for remote work
  • A good office location in Pitäjänmäki with good public transport connections – parking slot is also offered
  • Competitive salary and fringe benefits, such as sports and cultural benefit, that support your well-being to live life to the fullest

In this position you will be employed directly to Remomedi.
