We are a fintech company that offers tailored investment management software solutions for asset managers, private banks and family offices. We are a growing international company and the leading provider of the industry in Northern Europe. We have a wide expertise in the financial and technology sector, and we constantly develop our software to ensure to always offer the best solution in the market. At the moment, our team consists of 60 employees and due to our growth, we are constantly looking for new experts to join our crew. Could you be the next?

FA Solutions is now looking for two Product Owners to join their development teams in Helsinki. These development teams are responsible for FA Platform’s applications that focus on fund management and online-reportage as well as portfolio management and back office operations. The development teams consist of Team leaders and Software developers. As a Product Owner you will be also working closely with product management, sales and pre-sales, customer support and customer success teams and potentially with customers and prospects, but usually through the client-facing teams.

As a Product Owner you will be managing the product(s) (applications that were mentioned above) you are responsible for, so that they respond to client needs with high quality and usability. Your main tasks include for example translating client needs to product requirements, managing the product backlog and prioritizing items objectively for release planning and ensuring that functional specifications are clear and adequate, you are also keeping specifications up-to-date. Additionally you will be accepting features and improvements after development to ensure requirements are met, participating in internal and external release documentation and communication, including release notes, checklists and internal and external webinars and internal meetings.

Your main tasks include:

  • Managing the product discovery and the product backlog
  • Overseeing implementation stages from specification to acceptance
  • Evaluating product progress and adjusting requirements and specification iteratively
  • Anticipating client needs and future problems-to-solve
  • Participating in documenting and communicating changes in your product(s)
  • Acting as primary liaison for your product(s)

The ideal candidate for this role is someone with a relevant academic degree and who already has a couple of years of experience, either from the industry or as a Product Owner. The ideal candidate is also logical and excellent at solving problems, and has basic knowledge of software development. Additionally the ideal candidate has great prioritizing skills, the ability to see the big picture while paying attention to details and excellent communication and presentation skills.

We require you to:

  • Have a commercial / technical degree (MBA or similar)
  • Have earlier experience from the industry, for example from asset management company (middle or back office) or earlier experience as a Product Owner (minimum of couple years)
  • Have basic knowledge of software development
  • Have excellent communication skills and the ability to work in teams
  • Be fully proficient in English

We consider as an asset:

  • Language skills in Finnish or Swedish
  • Earlier experience of JIRA
  • User orientation and
  • adequate vocabulary both in finance and software development
