Kempower Oy designs, manufactures and commercializes charging solutions and services for electric vehicles and machines operating in the most demanding conditions. Our charging solutions are designed and manufactured in Lahti, Finland. We are owned by Kemppi Group and together with Kemppi Oy we have 70 years of experience in perfecting power sources.

Kempower is looking for an embedded software R&D Engineer for their fast-growing company in Lahti. Their innovation is efficient electric vehicle chargers. Kempower fast charging solutions are suitable for different types of electric vehicles. They can be scaled from the fast charging needs of passenger traffic all the way to the hard-to-reach work sites in distant locations. They make electric vehicle charging solutions that are built to last and scale together with your business.

As an R&D Engineer, you will be part of product development projects related to embedded systems. These projects focus on charger’s software and their functions in the field, for example dynamic power-sharing between vehicles and chargers. Work includes creating new but also developing additional features to existing systems. You will be involved from design to deployment and follow the performance. Your daily tasks can include designing, programming, and testing that charging vehicles is safe and effective. Besides development, you will help customers and solve challenges.

We are looking for a person with an independent working style and good problem-solving skills. In this role you will work in close cooperation with internal and external stakeholders, so we hope you have good teamwork skills. As an ideal candidate, you are skilled in embedded systems and willing to develop your skills even further. However, support and help from highly skilled colleagues are always available.

We require you to have:

  • Relevant technical study background
  • Several years experience in C / C++ programming and embedded Linux
  • Programming experience for commercial purpose
  • A team player mindset and a proactive attitude
  • Willingness to learn and independent working style
  • A driving license
  • Fluency in English

We consider as an asset:

  • Understanding of microcontrollers
  • Knowledge or experience with Node.js
  • Knowledge of Robot Framework
