Most products are now filled with software. Despite of the software being cloud, server, desktop, mobile or even embedded, as the amount of software increases, also the need for proper, especially automated, testing increases. So, we are currently looking for a curious Software Test Automation Engineer – who is eager to learn new things and develop themself – to join the ever growing ranks of Etteplan in Hyvinkää. 

Etteplan offers their customers a complete testing service portfolio and their expertise areas include embedded software, virtualization, cloud systems, Graphical User Interface (GUI) and data security. Etteplan’s customers are world-leading machinery and equipment manufacturers, and as they at Etteplan already design the devices for their customers, they also know the used technologies and the best tools for Continuous Integration (CI), Test Automation (TA), requirement handling or bug reporting taking into account the whole DevOps pipeline. You will, then, work as a consultant on customer premises taking mainly part in different software test automation development projects. 

Your main tasks:

  • Test automation planning
  • Writing requirement-based test automation cases
  • Continuous integration pipeline implementation
  • Documentation
  • Other project related tasks

Etteplan uses a modern set of tools for test automation including Robot Framework, Jenkins, Selenium, python, C#, .net, Labview, Procket Rapidm, Jmeter, Postman and SoapUI, and so, you will have the opportunity to dip your fingers into these. The software test automation development projects are delivered using agile methods (Scrum, Kanban). The sprints take approximately two weeks starting with sprint planning and ending with follow-ups sprint retrospectives. You will, then, have an important role in ensuring that the test automation roadmap is implemented as planned with all possible bugs fixed and future errors prevented!

As an ideal candidate, you have a relevant technical background and you have already gained some experience in software development and/or test  automation from school, personal projects or work. Besides technical know-how, you also show genuine interest towards software test automation development. You are proactive, have a solution-focused can do attitude and take responsibility of your own work. Moreover, you are an capable of working both in a team and independently, and co-operating with diverse stakeholders. This being said, willingness to learn new things and develop yourself is the key: you can be either at the early stages of your career or already in a more established expertise position, but either way, we expect you to be eager to learn new tips and tricks in software test automation development. We are preferably looking for a person who could work full-time, but part-time hours (min. 3-4 days/week) can be negotiated if you are finishing your studies, for example. 

We require you to have:

  • A relevant educational background
  • Some experience in software development and/or test automation (preferably Robot Framework) through work or school/personal projects (for example Raspberry Pi, Arduino)
  • Good skills in using Python 
  • Familiarity with Linux 
  • Fluency in English

 We consider as an asset:

  • Previous knowledge of at least one of the following: C/C++, Embedded Systems, Cloud Systems or Cyber Security
  • Fluency in Finnish
