Venuu – a leading online marketplace for event venues and services in Finland, Spain, Sweden and Denmark – is looking for a new CEO to spearhead the company’s growth, expansion and product.

The ideal candidate has previous hands-on experience in leading product development, customer acquisition, growth and/or operations in e.g. a tech, marketplace, e-commerce or SaaS environment. Background in startups, scaleups or other growth companies is considered a massive advantage.

The role is based in the company's Helsinki or Barcelona office. You’ll get a fixed monthly salary + stock options. Starting time negotiable, e.g. in H1 2026.

Your role with us

As Venuu’s next CEO, you'll shape the company’s vision and lead its execution with a growth-driven and product-led approach. You'll take over a healthy and profitable business with full responsibility for Venuu’s strategy, product, finances and key stakeholder relations. You’ll also oversee its operations together with the company’s COO.

Today, Venuu operates in four growing markets: Finland, Sweden, Denmark and Spain. The company currently employs 25 people across Helsinki and Barcelona and is constantly hiring more.

Key responsibilities

• Vision & Strategy: Define Venuu’s long-term direction and lead strategic initiatives such as market expansion and product launches.
• Product Leadership: Lead the inhouse development team. Own the product vision and roadmap. Drive rapid development with modern tools and uphold a high standard for UX and design.
• Financing & Funding: Oversee financial operations, lead potential growth funding efforts and control cashflow management.
• Culture & People: Build a high-performance culture, lead by example and ensure accountability and alignment across the leadership team.
• Growth & Brand: Ensure the marketing team can scale customer acquisition efforts, expand marketing channels and strengthen Venuu’s brand presence across all markets.
• Board & Investor Relations: Manage investor relations and engage the board as a strategic partner in shaping the company's direction and decisions.
• External Relations: Maintain strategic relationships and monitor the competitive landscape to explore partnership and M&A opportunities.

What makes you a great fit?

You have experience growing digital businesses – ideally internationally. You’ve led cross-functional teams and made strategic decisions that shaped the company's direction. You understand how to balance vision with execution, and you’re able to make decisions based on data, self-discovered user insight and financial realities.

Whether your background is in growth, product, marketing or operations, you bring a strong sense of ownership and curiosity, and you're ready to lead both people and strategy with clarity and inspiration. Experience as a startup founder or in similar entrepreneurial leadership roles is especially valued.

You are expected to have:

• Hands-on experience in leading product development, user acquisition, growth and/or operations for example in a tech, marketplace, e-commerce or SaaS environment
• Background in startups, scaleups or other growth companies, with ownership of strategic decisions and business outcomes
• Experience in roles such as startup founder, CEO, COO, Head of Product or Growth Lead
• Comfort with P&L ownership, budgeting and stakeholder relations
• Full working proficiency in English and at least one of our market languages (Finnish, Swedish, Danish or Spanish)
• Ability to operate from either Helsinki or Barcelona, with occasional travel between locations
• Considered as an advantage: background in user acquisition, investor-backed growth companies, AI-driven product development or marketplace business models

Practicalities:

The starting time is negotiable, for example in H1 2026. The role will be located either in the Helsinki or Barcelona office, with occasional travel between locations. The compensation package includes a fixed monthly salary plus stock options. Final terms will be negotiated later in the process, taking into account your experience and expectations.
