WirepasTest Automation Engineer (Embedded IoT)

Wirepas is seeking an experienced Test Automation Engineer to develop and scale automated testing for Wirepas Mesh — an embedded IoT product powering large-scale wireless networks.

What will you be doing?

We are looking for a Test Automation Engineer to join Wirepas’ Mesh product development team in Tampere. In this role, you will take ownership of developing, maintaining, and executing automated testing for an embedded IoT product where all testing is fully automated.

You will work in a cross-functional team of 15–20 professionals, including developers and test specialists, contributing directly to product quality and release success. Your work spans from designing and implementing test automation to running large-scale test suites (over 1.4 million runs annually) across both physical hardware networks and simulation environments.

Your responsibilities include planning and implementing test automation, executing tests according to release schedules, collaborating in release testing, and proactively identifying and managing risks that may impact quality or timelines.

For this role we are hoping for you to master:

• Several years of experience in testing wireless embedded software products in collaboration with development teams
• Good understanding of hardware schematics and board-level architecture
• Strong skills in test automation tools and environments such as Python and Robot Framework
• Good knowledge of Linux, Jenkins, Bash scripting, and CI/CD pipelines
• Good spoken and written English

We consider as an asset:

• Experience with embedded hardware-related software and tools
• Familiarity with current and power measurement instrumentation for wireless devices
• Understanding of simulation-based testing environments

Practicalities:

This is a full-time and permanent position in which you will be employed directly to Wirepas. The role is located in Tampere, and due to the hands-on nature of the work, we expect you to work mainly on-site, with occasional remote work possibilities. Please note that the position requires the right to work in Finland. Salary in this position is 4000-5400 €/month (gross) depending on the level of your experience, and will be negotiated individually.
