Local Internship Programme 2019

SEB is now looking for 6 interns to take part in our Local Internship programme during spring or autumn 2019. The positions are placed in different parts of our Large Corporates & Financial Institutions division: in Financial Institutions Coverage, Large Corporates Coverage and Financial Strategy business areas. We will match you to one of the teams based on your background and interests. You will get a unique opportunity to learn about banking and gain a thorough understanding of SEB’s business in Finland and abroad.

Financial Institutions Coverage – In this position you will have the opportunity to learn how we work with our financial institutions clients, experience how we advise our clients in new business opportunities and understand how the financial markets work. You will get a good understanding of the financial industry in Finland, the key players and their behaviour. The Financial Institutions Coverage unit consists of 4 client executives and 2 account managers working in close cooperation with our Markets, Asset Management Sales and Investor Services units.

Large Corporates Coverage – In this position you will get a good knowledge of the credit process and fundamentals of the banking business. Further you will have the opportunity to learn about our corporate clients and get a good understanding of their business with the bank. You will be supported by a team that consists of 5 account managers. You will also work in close co-operation with the Industry & Corporate Analysis team and the Client Executives.

Financial Strategy – In this position you will get an opportunity to learn fundamental corporate analysis skills. Your responsibilities will include supporting in strategic advisory projects to our corporate clients regarding their financing and capital structure in corporate events such as M&A, large investments or capital raising. You will be part of a small team working closely together with large corporate clients.

During your 4,5-month internship you get to

  • Work in a defined position alongside with talented professionals as a part of your home team
  • Visit other departments to learn about variety of roles at SEB and build your network
  • Gain insight and understanding of our product offering, our clients and the banking business in general

Your profile

We are looking for students (approx. 2nd– 4th year) who have the potential, passion and desire to become future talents within SEB. We expect that you have a genuine interest in the financial markets and eagerness to learn.

We wish that you have

  • Good analytical skills
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong communication and networking skills to help you navigate in the organisation
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to work with individual projects
  • Fluency both in English and Finnish
