HSL

An HR consulting project to support skills development and the introduction of a career path model.

Starting point and challenge

Digital solutions are at the core of HSL's services, which is why recruiting technology specialists and retaining them as long-term employees is important to the organisation. HSL turned to us to develop skills management within its Technology division, which is responsible for developing digital services.

aTalent's solution

In collaboration with HSL, our HR consultant Anna identified the technology team's most critical skills needs. At the same time, we analysed how different roles could best support the goals of the Technology division and what changes should be made to job descriptions. This also made it possible to explore different career path options.

During the project, we developed recommendations on how to communicate career development opportunities to IT specialists joining HSL in junior positions, including opportunities to progress into roles requiring more advanced expertise.

Results and added value

The project lasted two months and resulted in an action plan for implementing a career path model. The plan helps HSL identify the areas that the management of the HR and Technology teams need to focus on to ensure successful implementation.

Based on the skills needs identified during the project, we also created examples of career paths that will help HSL manage career development more systematically and make career opportunities more visible in the future.
