Virta enables B2B customers to make business from electric vehicle charging services with comprehensive SaaS-based solutions. We provide a modular scalable turn-key solution for EV charging networks and are already operational in close to 20 different countries, for example Finland, France, Switzerland and Germany.Virta’s customers are for example owners of charging stations, retailers of charging services, energy utilities and real-estate companies who provide services to electric vehicle users.

As the company grows, Virta is looking now for a new Junior Fullstack Developer with backend development focus to join their 15-member development team in Helsinki.

Your role will be working on development projects, mostly focusing on back-end development, related to different payment systems and their integration with our financial management software. In your work you’ll be using mainly programming languages like PHP and JavaScript and as frameworks Laravel and Node.js. We expect that you have completed some projects with the technologies we are using (or other similar frameworks) and you are willing and capable to learn the things which you are not yet familiar with. You will be working mainly on internal projects together with an experienced developer who will help you to learn new things and to grow your competence.

We are looking for a person with preferably some work or hobbyist experience in mainly back-end development, but you should also have basic knowledge of frontend skills like HTML, JavaScript, CSS, etc. Your own projects are also a big plus – Let us know what you can already do and what you would like to learn! As a person, we hope that you are a proactive problem-solver who is always keen to create and try new things.

We are looking for some who:

  • Has some experience of Full Stack development. Especially skills with PHP (Laravel or similar frameworks) and JavaScript (Node.js) are something we are looking for, PHP being the most important technology
  • Speaks fluent English (Finnish skills are not required)
  • Has a proactive attitude towards working
  • Has relevant study background (information technology, computer science etc.)
