Your role with Aalto EE

As a Digital Learning Specialist at Aalto EE, your mission is to ensure the successful use of learning platforms by supporting internal teams, faculty, and subject matter experts in designing pedagogically sound and engaging content. You will help bring learning concepts to life within the new Alex Learning Experience Platform, making sure teams can fully utilize its capabilities in practice.

Rather than developing technical features, you will act as a learning design coach and platform expert – a go-to person who can guide, co-create, and inspire. You’ll work closely with the Platform Manager and program teams, provide training and support when needed, and help build team-wide confidence in digital learning design. Your role is central in turning platform potential into real learner impact. You will play a key role in enabling the effective use of the Alex platform and supporting others in applying its capabilities in program delivery.

In addition to supporting others, you will also play an active role in developing Aalto EE’s digital learning offering. This includes analyzing user feedback and data to continuously improve the learning experience, monitoring the effectiveness of learning initiatives, and staying up to date with emerging tools and trends to bring fresh ideas into the work.

You enjoy coaching others, solving problems, and building new practices, even when things are still a work in progress.

Your background might be in instructional design, educational technology, or digital learning production – but most importantly, you understand what engaging, pedagogically solid learning looks like online, and how to support others in creating it.

We expect from you:

• Relevant higher education degree and several years of hands-on experience with different digital learning platforms or tools
• Ability to support and guide content creators in digital learning environments
• Structured and self-driven working style, with excellent collaboration skills
• Fluency in English; Finnish is considered an advantage

We also value:

• Experience with Canvas, Howspace, Mentimeter, or similar platforms
• Understanding of video, audio, and visual content workflows
• Familiarity with instructional design principles or online pedagogy
• Experience working in an international or academic environment

Practicalities

This is a full-time and fixed-term position for 12 months, employed directly by Aalto EE as a parental leave substitute. We hope you can start as soon as possible in spring 2025. Aalto EE’s office is located in Töölö, Helsinki, and we hope you can work from the office a few days a week as part of a hybrid model. The fixed monthly salary for this role will be negotiated individually based on the selected candidate’s background and experience.
