Application Engineer (3D manufacturing simulation industry)

Today, we are recognized as a leading developer of 3D manufacturing simulation software and solutions, and we offer a simple, quick, and cost-effective solution to design and simulate production lines. With solutions for manufacturing design, sales, and application development, our software is trusted by hundreds of organizations worldwide. We have joined forces with KUKA, a global automation corporation, and this way we will be able to further improve and extend our entire value chain and deliver a first-class simulations solution for holistic factory automation. We are headquartered in Espoo, Finland, but we have subsidiaries in Lake Orion, Michigan and Munich, Germany, along with a global partner network of partners and resellers.

Visual Components is growing, so we are now looking for Application Engineers to join our technical support team. You will work with our simulation specialists as well as partners from world-leading machine builders, system integrators, and manufacturers. You get to help our clients to troubleshoot their simulation projects and provide simulation examples on different topics. You will also participate in Quality and Assurance tasks in form of software testing, bug analysis, and verification. This is a great learning opportunity and a chance to also influence your own role!

You don’t have to be a professional yet but we are looking for someone who has got the willingness and attitude to become one! We especially appreciate analytical problem-solving skills along with the ability to adapt and learn new things fast. A positive personality together with good communication skills is also much appreciated. It is possible to discuss part-time employment (minimum 25 h / week) for a couple of months in the beginning if you are finishing your studies.

Requirements for the applicant:

  • Relevant educational background, e.g. a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in production engineering, automation engineering, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or computer science
  • Knowledge of Python, C#, or other object-oriented language
  • Fluent English skills, both spoken and written (Finnish is not necessary!)

What we see as an advantage:

  • Knowledge of 3D modelling and/or 3D simulation
  • Experience in industrial production, automation, and robotics systems
  • Other language skills than English
