WordDive is looking for a (Junior) Fullstack Developer to strengthen the development team. In‌ ‌this‌ ‌position‌ ‌you‌ ‌get‌ ‌to‌ ‌work‌ on building the‌ ‌website for the new, upgraded brand and application that the team has been working on since spring 2020.‌

At the beginning, you will be responsible for the frontend web development. You‌ ‌will be able to ‌participate‌ ‌in‌ ‌all‌ ‌parts‌ ‌of‌ ‌the‌ ‌web‌ ‌development‌ ‌from‌‌ ‌planning‌ ‌to‌ ‌technical‌ ‌implementation‌ ‌and‌ ‌testing.‌ You’ll‌ ‌get‌ ‌to‌ ‌work‌ ‌with‌ ‌modern‌ ‌technologies‌ ‌and‌ ‌‌agile methodologies‌ ‌in‌ ‌a‌ ‌team‌ ‌which‌ ‌consists‌ ‌of‌ ‌other‌ ‌developers,‌ ‌designers,‌ ‌product‌ ‌owners‌ ‌and‌ ‌data‌ ‌analysts.‌ ‌In‌ ‌addition,‌ ‌you‌ ‌will‌ ‌be‌ ‌supported‌ ‌by‌ ‌the‌ ‌team‌ ‌of‌ ‌AI‌ ‌experts.‌ ‌As‌ ‌soon‌ ‌as‌ ‌you‌ ‌gain‌ ‌more‌ ‌experience,‌ ‌you‌ ‌will‌ ‌get‌ ‌more‌ ‌responsibility‌ ‌and‌ ‌a‌ ‌chance‌ ‌to‌ ‌jump‌ ‌into‌ ‌a‌ ‌broader‌ ‌fullstack‌ ‌developer’s‌ ‌role‌.‌ ‌

You‌ ‌don’t‌ ‌have‌ ‌to‌ ‌be‌ ‌an‌ ‌experienced‌ ‌fullstack‌ ‌guru‌ ‌right‌ ‌away‌ ‌but‌ ‌we‌ ‌hope‌ ‌you‌ ‌have‌ ‌some‌ ‌practical‌ ‌ software‌ ‌development‌ ‌experience‌ ‌from‌ ‌summer‌ ‌jobs,‌ ‌internships‌ ‌or‌ personal/school‌ ‌projects.‌‌ ‌You‌ ‌will‌ ‌participate‌ ‌in‌ ‌hands-on‌ ‌development‌ ‌right‌ ‌from‌ ‌the‌ ‌beginning‌ ‌which‌ ‌is‌ ‌why‌ ‌skills‌ ‌in‌ ‌at‌ ‌least‌ ‌one‌ ‌modern‌ ‌frontend‌ ‌technology‌ ‌(e.g.‌ ‌‌React,‌ ‌Vue.js,‌ ‌Next.js)‌ ‌is‌ ‌required.‌ Our‌ ‌ideal‌ ‌candidate‌ ‌has‌ ‌a‌ ‌precise‌ ‌and‌ ‌self-directed‌ ‌attitude‌ ‌with‌ ‌the‌ ‌ability‌ ‌to‌ ‌carry‌ ‌responsibility‌ ‌for‌ ‌your‌ ‌own‌ ‌work.‌ ‌We‌ ‌are‌ ‌preferably‌ ‌looking‌ ‌for‌ ‌a‌ ‌full‌ ‌time‌ ‌developer‌ ‌but‌ ‌part‌ ‌time‌ ‌is‌ ‌also‌ ‌negotiable‌ ‌as‌ ‌long‌ ‌as‌ ‌you‌ ‌could‌ ‌work‌ ‌a‌ ‌minimum‌ ‌of‌ ‌3‌ ‌days‌ ‌per‌ ‌week.‌ ‌Hence‌ ‌the‌ ‌job‌ ‌can‌ ‌be‌ ‌easily‌ ‌adapted‌ ‌to‌ ‌your‌ ‌life‌ ‌situation‌ ‌so‌ ‌that‌ ‌you‌ ‌can‌ ‌e.g.‌ ‌finalize‌ ‌your‌ ‌studies.‌ ‌

We require you to have:

  • Practical experience in software development (from summer jobs, internships or personal/school projects)
  • Skills in at least one modern frontend technology (e.g. React, Vue.js, Next.js)
  • Precise and independent way of working
  • Excellent communication and team working skills
  • Proficiency in English

We consider as an asset:

  • Relevant study background or final stage studies in IT
  • Skills in backend development technologies and programming languages
  • A visual eye

We offer you:

  • A meaningful job: ‌you‌ ‌will‌ ‌get‌ ‌to‌ ‌support‌ ‌people’s‌ ‌language‌ ‌learning‌ and help them take their career and life quality to the next level
  • A chance to join an award-winning startup in an interesting growth phase and to scale the product to international markets.
  • Great possibilities for professional growth: based on your skills and interests, you will get more responsibility and a chance to jump for example into a broader fullstack developer’s role in the future.
  • An inspiring work environment and good team spirit. You will join a multidisciplinary team that supports and encourages its members.
  • Open work atmosphere, laid-back work culture and low bureaucracy. We regularly organise free-time activities and small trips for our team members.
  • Spacious, freshly renovated office with sauna facilities in the factory area of Tampella.
  • Competitive salary

In this position you will be employed directly to WordDive.
