Prima PowerSoftware Developer, CAD/CAM

Prima Power is looking for a CAD/CAM Software Developer to join the software development team in Seinäjoki. In this role, you will design and implement mathematical calculation routines and interactive software features for advanced NC machine systems, directly contributing to the speed, reliability, and precision of sheet metal processing lines. Your work plays a central role in delivering globally-used, modular manufacturing systems.

You’ll be part of an international, multidisciplinary team working in close cooperation with specialists in software engineering, robotics, and automation. At our Seinäjoki site, which houses Prima Power’s second-largest production unit, you’ll benefit from access to real NC machinery for development and testing purposes – making your contributions visible and tangible.

You are motivated by complex technical challenges, combining mathematical precision with practical software development. You work systematically, communicate openly, and are excited about designing digital tools that drive real-world manufacturing performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement CAM software functionality for CNC cutting and bending operations
• Develop interactive 2D and 3D software features using modern programming tools
• Apply mathematical principles such as geometry, trigonometry, and optimization in software algorithms
• Contribute to the development of modular and scalable manufacturing solutions
• Collaborate closely with robotics, automation, and UI/UX professionals across teams

We hope you have experience and interest in:

• Solid programming skills in C++ (preferably C++20)or similar
• Applying mathematical concepts such as matrix calculations and geometric transformations
• User interface design and development for technical applications
• Communicating fluently in English, both spoken and written
• Working in a systematic and self-directed manner in a collaborative environment

Bonus points for:

• A degree in Software Engineering, Automation, or a related technical field
• Experience in CAD/CAM software development
• Familiarity with 3D modeling technologies (e.g., Parasolid) and robot programming
• Experience with Visual C++ and software libraries such as Siemens Parasolid kernel, Siemens Kineo or Hoops Luminate

Practicalities:

This is a full-time and permanent position. You will be employed directly by Prima Power. Start time in the role is as soon as possible, but can be negotiated flexibly. The role will be located in Seinäjoki and we hope you are able to work at the office at least a few days per week as part of a hybrid model. Salary in this position is 4000-5500 €/month (gross) depending on the level of your experience and will be negotiated individually.
