To further strengthen our sturdy position within the industry, we at Blancco are now growing our cloud-oriented product development team in Joensuu with a new Test automation engineer! In this position, you will play an important role in the development of next-generation cloud solutions.

At first, we’ll let you warm up and get acquainted with our products and requirements and get to know the team. Later, once you’ve had enough time to make yourself at home, we involve you to make sure that the development lifecycle is efficient by planning, establishing, and further developing test automation procedures. You’ll be involved in various test automation procedures related to the whole QA. Your daily tasks consist of participating in sprint planning and verification, firstly manual and then test automation development. You’ll be developing automation on different levels such as unit, integration, system, and acceptance tests. Your goal is to produce results that are elegant, simple, and don’t require a team of experts to decode.

You will be joining a team of 20 developers working with Scrum methods. The project team consists of experts in software development and testing from Finland and India. We tend to slice our development cycle into two-week sprints under which each team member has strong autonomy to affect their own development work. Your most important tool for daily work is Python. You will also get acquainted with the following (though, previous knowledge is not necessarily required from all of them): Java, TypeScript, Selenium, React, TestRail, JIRA, and SQL/NoSQL. Moreover, we did mention cloud at the beginning of the text – in practical terms this would mean that AWS is something you’re gonna be dealing with a lot at Blancco. We also provide you the possibility for an AWS certificate.

Our developers at Blancco like to challenge the idea of “impossible”, producing elegant, simple, and high-quality solutions, so we hope you share our mindset. This is a great opportunity to undertake personal growth and learn among a global team of experts in a multicultural environment. Equally, we are looking to learn from you!

In this position, you will be employed directly to Blancco.

We expect:

  • Solid programming skills with Python
  • Skills with test automation
  • Previous work experience or some other evidence to showcase your skills (e.g. hobby projects). We are also warmly welcoming senior-level test engineers.
  • Ability and aspiration to work autonomously as part of a Scrum team – constantly willing to learn more but also foster colleagues’ development
  • Good communication skills in English

We appreciate but don’t require:

  • Skills with any test automation tools (e.g. Selenium, Robot Framework)
  • Prior practical experience of the following tech stack: AWS or other public cloud services, Java, TypeScript, React, JIRA, and/or SQL/NoSQL
  • Understanding of web application security

What we offer:

At Blancco, we want people to enjoy the work that they do and have fun. We think that the basis is created with interesting projects and a good working atmosphere. You will work with the latest technologies and have the chance to make a significant contribution to the products of a highly successful and growing company.

Besides working together, we do a lot of other stuff like sports & other activities, events, and parties. If you join our team you will be working with talented colleagues who have a passion for industry-leading technology. As an employer, we want to support your development and work by offering training and providing our team members the latest tools, equipment, and common fringe benefits such as lunch and sports vouchers. In addition, we have a collaborative and unpretentious environment where creativity is valued. We strive for diversity in our work teams and are committed to equal opportunity and providing an equitable workplace.
