Neagen Oy was established in 2002 by a medical image processing research group in the University of Oulu and Oulu University Hospital. We work closely with a wide spectrum of clinicians and other specialists to enable continuous improvement of our products.

We now have an open spot for a Jr. Software Developer to join Neagen’s talented and professional development team! As a Jr. Software Developer at Neagen, you get to learn and deepen your programming knowledge by participating in developing new features to our existing products as well as updating them. We are also continuously collaborating with our customers to create new solutions. Our development work focuses on our medical imaging software that enables more precise diagnostics of 2D, 3D and 4D medical images. We also provide a browser-based image viewing solution (here we use JavaScript, CSS, and HTML) and an imaging production control and archive system. What we do is unique in Finland, and your work at Neagen is strongly connected to providing healthcare organizations with better diagnostic solutions. What you get to do in practise depends on your skills and motivation.

The person we are looking for is enthusiastic about programming and is driven to learn more. We value analytical problem-solving skills, forward-looking thinking, and the ability to adapt and learn new things fast. We don’t expect you to be a professional developer yet, but we are looking for someone who has got the willingness to become one. We use scrum methods in our development work, and we have a good selection of libraries and platforms to boost your development. In this position, you are also backed by your more experienced colleagues. If you still have your thesis to write, we are happy to work on that together.

What we value:

  • Basic level programming skills in, for example, JavaScript, C++, or Java – perhaps you have gained these skills working on your own projects or during your studies?
  • Analytical problem-solving skills
  • Drive and ability to deepen your programming skills
  • Fluent English skills (Finnish not necessary)
