Griffin Refineries, a pioneer in organic waste recycling and sustainable development, continues its growth story and is now looking for a Project Manager to join the team! We are looking for a person to work in Organic Circularity Business Unit where we focus on delivering and developing advanced solutions for organic waste treatment with a holistic circular approach, enabling the transition towards a proper circular economy. As a Project Manager, you will be managing delivery projects and developing the possible additional sales related to the solutions that Griffin is providing. The target is to develop an independent country-based operation. You will be working closely with clients, external stakeholders, and key suppliers.


  • Initiate the project – check feasibility and work out budgets, teams, and resources
  • Carry out planning – setting goals and objectives, defining roles, and producing schedules and timelines for tasks. All in accordance with the needs of our clients.
  • Manage the project – coordinating the project team to keep them on track and keeping the project on budget. Also carrying out monitoring and controlling activities to track the progress of the project.
  • Identify and manage risks to ensure delivery is on time.
  • Managing network of key stakeholders and building partnerships.
  • Close the project – including evaluating successes and challenges to enhance learning for your next project.
  • Identifying future business opportunities within the project delivery and develop those into additional sales.

You should have the capacity to make informed decisions and communicate plans properly to the rest of the team. The position is permanent and we hope the person found here will be able to get started as soon as possible! As the customers are abroad, the position also requires readiness to travel.

We require you to:

  • A university-level degree in engineering (e.g. environmental engineering)
  • Relevant work experience in project delivery – Proven ability to deliver projects successfully and with the client’s satisfaction
  • Commercial mindset and sales focus
  • Hands-on approach and ability to work with other team’s members to create value
  • Fluency in Finnish and English

We consider as an asset:

  • Previous experience in the waste management sector, in particular, organic waste
  • Understanding of the biological treatment process
  • Spanish and/or Italian language skills, as Griffin has customers in Spain and Italy
  • AutoCAD skills
